About this trail
Zhinangong Maokong Hiking Trail combines a historic temple pilgrimage path with forest, stone steps and Maokong’s tea-growing landscape, passing Zhinan Temple before continuing toward the Tea Promotion Center in the hills above Wenshan.
Trail condition
No hands-on climbing is normally required.
No significant exposed sections or dangerous drop-offs.
The trail is well defined and generally easy to follow.
Getting there
By Public Transport
Zhinan Temple Trailhead:
From MRT Wanfang Community Station (Brown Line)
1) Take Bus BR5 or Bus S10 and get off at Xiaokengkou (Peicheng Junior High School).
2) Search for “Zhinan Temple Trailhead” on Google Maps and follow the walking directions to the trailhead.
From MRT Taipei Zoo Station (Brown Line)
1) Take Bus BR15 or Bus S10 or Bus Maokong Lef and get off at Xiaokengkou (Peicheng Junior High School).
2) Search for “Zhinan Temple Trailhead” on Google Maps and follow the walking directions to the trailhead.
Tea Promotion Center Trailhead:
From MRT Wanfang Community Station (Brown Line)
1) Take Bus S10 and get off at Tea Promotion Center
From MRT Taipei Zoo Station (Brown Line)
1) Take Bus BR15 or Bus Maokong Lef and get off at Tea Promotion Center.
Alternatively:
1) Take the Maokong Gondola from Taipei Zoo Station to Maokong Station.
2) Search for “Tea Promotion Center” on Google Maps and follow the walking directions. The walk is approximately 1.2 km.
By Car
Zhinan Temple Trailhead:
Navigate to “Zhinan Temple Trailhead” on Google Maps. Parking in the surrounding hillside roads is limited.
Tea Promotion Center Trailhead:
Navigate to “Taipei Tea Promotion Center” on Google Maps. Limited parking is available nearby.
